Three Tiers of Games for Games Workshop...
From garry naftka :
"I've been getting a few date confirmations coming in for both the 7th and 14th of November as important dates. It seems that there may be something more to both dates than we are hearing beyond a single standalone box game. I also pulled some information from a little ways back on a forum... simply because whisperers are saying a lot of the same thing as is said here.
Games Workshop will have three tier Gaming Systems.
Ive been hearing this, behind the scenes for a bit now, and this will throw a little bit of relief into 40k players (like myself). 40k will not get AoSified. (btw that is a new word going into the dictionary for 2015).
What is being said is that Games Workshop will have three game systems.
1. Age of Sigmar. Free rules, quicker to learn. Entry Level
2. Warhammer 40k. More Complex, More involved expensive with rules etc.
3. Horus Heresy. Geared towards veteran gamers.
I just want to add, that this is what I have been hearing, and seeing someone else post up on it throws a little extra validity into it. Thank you Grissom2006 for posting up on this. It really does help us understand some of the releases that are coming.
What I really am dying to know, and no one is talking..... is if the Horus Heresy game will be tied into what Forgeworld is doing. Same game? Different game? What's Up?

Right guys you need to keep yourselves at the ready for dates the 7th and 14th of November

7th & 14th nov.
I just wanted to say that indeed something big will come on these dates.
They are "red" for Store Managers, meaning Managers are asked to have
the store open and not be on holiday.
These red dates are reserved for very big releases like Age of Sigmar or
whole new armys so Horus Heresy is very likley to happen.
Three Gaming Systems

I'll expand slightly on the thinking behind why the pricing is likely to be in the realms of what i keep on hearing. The current think is that GW is looking at three gaming systems AOS being the first stage entry level gaming quick to pick up and play and complete with free rules. 40K more complex game to play and greater cost due to codices add ons etc.. Horus Hersey being the top end of the gaming spectrum and aimed at veterans/experienced gamers supposedly complete with even more complex rules.
Ohh and just to add into the mix there may not be just one set release but TWO!!"

What do you think ?
Personally i am not convinced, if you look at the gaming industry in general (rpg, board games, video games, cards and dice)...The trend is : Less rules and more open/powerful mechanism, i can't really imagine GW releasing a new game with more rules than 40k...but heh who knows ! (Atia maybe ;) )
I'll even add that the "Veteran" concept for a game is stupid and have no future. If you take the MTG game it's really easy to start and you have to invest serious money to keep up with standard format. But no one start with " i buy a full meta-geared 1000$ standard deck !" they start with a pre build deck or something like that.. If you want to hook customer with a game, the first few step must be easy one...
On the contrary i predict 40k or 30k to be an entry in the sci-fy stuff and the other one encouraging bigger army !
