Howdy Guys and Girls - and welcome to another Temporal Distort - a look back at the past of Citadel and Games Workshop!
Did you know that Citadel Miniatures did a lot of great stuff for Dungeons and Dragons? First, they brought Dungeons and Dragons to Europe, and later they announced that they would do an official range of metal miniatures. June 1985 saw the release of the first two box sets - with blisters and two citadel drakes later that year. Sadly, the range only saw eighteen months of releases - thanks to licence changes (D&D switched to Ral Partha) they had to sell off their remaining stock at a huge sale.
One of the best things about the blister range they made - you got 3 models in one blister, each representing the same character at different experience levels - awesome!
Let's take a look at some box art and models :)
The first box had some basic heroes - Citadel released female characters aswell as halflings later.
Thanks @ http://www.solegends.com/rsadd/ for the pictures - you can find more models of the AD&D range there aswell =)
Hope you enjoyed this little time walk,
Regards,
Lady Atia
