Hello everyone !!!
Today we're diving into the universe of Combat Patrol, the fast-paced, thrilling addition to the Warhammer gaming family. If you've been yearning to test out a new faction or simply don't have the time for a larger game, this is the perfect opportunity to take up your miniatures and march into battle.
Combat Patrol is designed with you, the player, in mind. You don't need to rummage through datasheets and calculate point values; all you need to do is choose your favorite faction's Combat Patrol box, assemble your miniatures, and you're ready for action. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the Warhammer universe, this gaming format has something for everyone.
The Leviathan launch box is an excellent starting point, offering two full Combat Patrols – The Vardenghast Swarm, for Tyranids, and Strike Force Octavius for the Space Marines. It's a one-stop-shop that offers a taste of the wide array of models you'll encounter in the world of Warhammer.
The core of Combat Patrol revolves around self-contained rules defining each Patrol. From datasheets to secondary objectives, faction rules, Enhancements, and Stratagems, everything you need is right at your fingertips. You won't have to worry about overpowering units or complex strategies – the game is designed to be balanced and accessible, so you can focus on the fun of thematic combat.
One of the most exciting features of Combat Patrol is the revised datasheets. The Warhammer Studio team has worked hard to ensure that units are balanced for this format, simplifying more complex units to one defining rule. This means that you can learn the core abilities of your units without being overwhelmed, making it easier to master their full potential in larger games.
Keeping things balanced is a cornerstone of Combat Patrol. All weapons options for the units are fixed for all the Combat Patrol datasheets. This means you won't have to worry about which weapons to equip your models with – all you need to focus on is your strategy for victory!
Despite these changes, the core rules remain the same. Everything you learn in Combat Patrol will still apply in Chapter Approved or Crusade games. The rules for each faction will stay largely the same, but each Combat Patrol features unique Enhancements to let you tweak your WARLORD and try out new strategies.
Combat Patrol isn't just a game mode; it's a new way to enjoy Warhammer. Whether you're a Tyranid Swarm Commander or a Captain of the Space Marines, Combat Patrol offers a fresh, balanced, and thrilling way to bring your favorite factions to life. So pick up your miniatures, prepare your strategies, and march into the exciting world of Combat Patrol!
In the end, the goal of Combat Patrol is to deliver a gaming experience that's thematic, accessible, and balanced – making it as much fun for newcomers as it is for experienced players. So, ready to take up the challenge?
Honestly it could be interesting, even from a competitive point of view having this contained box a bit like duel deck from MTG it could be cool. I would have maybe liked if they core rules changed a bit with targeting from model to model (like warmachine) or have weapons use template or lines to increase the skill ceiling. Still it's better than nothing.
What do you think of this alth 40k ?
/Cheers.
