Hello everyone, welcome to the Warhammer 40000 9th editions rules and rumors This post will regroup all the info and the news on this release
Hello everyone !!!
Warhammer 40000 9th editions is upon us and here the round-up of every rumour and reveal.
Lots of rules have weird wording to prevent exploits. It make them quite difficult to understand but every rules have a bullet point list with everything explained :
example for the Dense Cover rule :
The bullet point:
It's kind the best of both world, so it's quite good !
> Chapter Approved Dual Book
Like AOS, CA is now 2 books, one for Matched play and one for points.
This army and campaign tracker is a great tool to use the new Crusade system,
New Open War Cards
First set was cool, but it was only interesting because Narrative and Matched were not enough developed ....With the content the 9th have I don't see the point.
Look like there is no rulebook pre order on the 11 outside of the box....also new points are not in the Box but in the CA...Maybe we get some points errata for recent codex. If not you need the box and CA to even play ^^
If you play 40k you get 12 CP at 2000pts and 18 up to 300. Everyone gets this.
You also gain CP every turn.
Number of Detachments base on the game size
Before the battle, you spend these CPs to add Detachment and Put units in reserve. Soup will now cost you extra CP, most of the starting Detachment have rules that refund you CP so you start with 12.
Even if you want to include a Primarch or some greater Daemons...
There are multiple rules that refund your CP if your warlord is in the detachment.
Min size for battlefield are now :
This is made to match Kill Team board size.
From what I was told they are going to push for this size in the future and multiple events have already made the jump. Still there is 0% obligation to use the min size.
Terrains rules have completely changed ! Now there is 2 type of terrain : Obstacle and Area terrain.
All terrains rules are linked to Keywords that you can add to a terrain piece.
Gw give numerous example of what to use when building a battlefield.
Mission packs are the new Meta. Each will have theme and rules to make for the most interesting/tactical diverse and Balanced experience.
Beast and Vehicule
They can now shoot in melee and they also don't get the -1 to hit for moving and shooting with heavy weapons.
Aircrafts rules have changed quite a lot !
9th Rules book have a list of all the Aicrafts in the 9th.
Overwatch is not free anymore and you have to use one CP to make it.
Tau still Overwatch for free :
Strategic Reserves units can’t normally be set up within 9″ of any enemy models, but if you set them up within 1″ of your own battlefield edge, they can be set up within this distance – and even within the 1″ Engagement Range of enemy models! If they do so, they count as having made a charge move, and your opponent will be unable to fire Overwatch against them!
The end of the Conga line meta ! this is direct nerf to buff bot (lieut, captain)
Coherency rules for 6+ units is a very good idea, it's simple but increase the depth of the game. Learning how to manage to be 2" from 2 models is going to be interesting for assault units ^^
Look out Sir !
They changed to rule to reduce some exploit concerning character targeting. The days of the Smash captain unable to being targeted are Over ^^
Tau still overwatch for free ^^
Emergency Disembarkation is one of the 7 core Stratagem and allow last ditch effort to save a circled unit in a transport...Still you loose one model for each 1 or 2....
The box contains :
-New rule book
-small book with new units stats (no points only power level)
T 5, 3 wounds, Assault Multi Melta, double shot if focus firing, yay !
ps : points are going to be online
ps : Sad that Bladeguard are not T5 :(
Very nice around Cryptek...
Huge box !!!!
