Breaking News! New Models, New Expansions and Exclusive Reveals!
Hello again !!
Generalist post on the Open day for extra info and smaller games.
With the new edition of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game a smash hit, fans have been hungry for some news on the latest expansions – and we’ve got some cracking reveals. Firstly, we’ve just had our first proper look at Gondor at War. This massive supplement is designed to let you recreate some of the most iconic battles from the films, as well as offering new Heroes and rewarding players who field thematic armies.
Gondor at War will be released alongside The Three Hunters – a new kit that realises some of Middle-earth’s most iconic Heroes in stunning detail (and in plastic to boot!), depicted as they leap to Gondor’s aid from the docks of Harlond:
There’s also a new General’s Accessories Pack on the way – a set of gaming essentials that make battling in Middle-earth simpler than ever:
For Adeptus Titanicus, we’ve been able to get a closer look at the new Reaver Titan, as well as the game’s first-ever supplement – Titandeath:
Titandeath kicks off a series of expansions for Adeptus Titanicus, letting you master new tactics and bring your battles to some of the most fiercely fought war zones of the Horus Heresy. In Titandeath, you’ll get to explore the conflict over Beta-Garmon, with rich lore, maps and more. New maniples and Titan Legion rules, meanwhile, let you personalise your army even more.
Not content with causing carnage in the Mortal Realms, diminutive greenskins are also a common sight on the gridiron – commonly making up for their lack of physical prowess, by breaking all the rules and buddying up with a local Troll or two.
Lastly, Nurgle teams are getting a model for their Big Guy – the foetid Rotspawn:
Stay tuned later today for more reveals from Warhammer World!
Price increase on paints and start collecting.

Hello everyone !!
Bad news :(
In the spirit of openness, we’ve got a quick bit of news for you today: as of the 4th of February this year, the price of paints and some of the Start Collecting! sets will change.
Paint pots will have a small increase of 20 pence per pot (or local currency equivalent). The paint sets, though, will have no change, making them an even better way to round out your painting arsenal.
The Start Collecting! sets are going up a little too, but you’ll still save at least 20% over buying the contents individually and in some cases more like 40%!
Paint is 3.50 to 3.70 (+5.7%)
Start Collecting price increase should be +5£ IIRC.
For comparison purpose: Europe inflation was 1,75 this year (2018)
Still dumb to increase Start Collecting pack price.

Coming Next Week: Project Boxes, Tiny Titans and Heroes of Middle-earth
Hello there !
To help you make some space ahead of Christmas and keep your personal hobby in order, we’re very excited to announce our new range of project boxes and paint racks.
The new project boxes are available in two sizes, and each has been designed to hold all the paints, brushes and other stuff you’ll need for whatever you’re currently working on – like a rolled-up painting mat, for instance. As well as being stackable (ideal if you’ve got loads of paints to store!), these all fit inside our larger figure cases, so you’ll be able to transport them in safety alongside your models!
Each project box comes packed with our new paint racking system, which is pretty cool in its own right! This new, modular set of paint racks is organised into interlocking hexagonal hives that store 21 paints each, making them great for grouping the key paints you’re using on a particular project. Each can be fitted with feet to stand on your desk or can be screwed into your walls via the holes on each rack. If you just want to get these paint racks on their own and don’t need any more project boxes, good news – they’ll be available on their own, too.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on some project boxes and paint racks before they go on pre-order next week, you can actually grab them now – each of this year’s bumper paint sets is bundled with one. Painting has never been so manageable…
Cerastus Knights are a favourite among Warhammer 40,000 fans, and for good reason, with their towering profile and unique loadouts making them a common sight in Imperial Knight armies. Next week, one of the most popular Ceratus Knights will be charging into the fray in Adeptus Titanicus, with a new boxed set containing two Knight Lancers!
Warlord Titan wielding a power fist the size of an Imperial Knight. Next week also heralds a new Warlord Titan kit with a fresh set of loadout options, including carapace-mounted laser blasters, a pair of Sunfury plasma annihilators and, yes, an Arioch Titan power claw.
With Middle-earth having exploded in popularity this year, we’re very excited to announce a new wave of plastic heroes to lead your armies to battle! Using modern miniatures design technology, we’ve been able to capture your favourite characters from the films with unprecedented detail and dynamism, bringing to life Gandalf the White and Peregrin Took as never seen before
What’s more, if you haven’t grabbed your copy of Battle for Pelennor Fields yet but still want to get your hands on the awesome new Théoden King of Rohan model, he’ll be available separately very soon. Similarly, Legolas Greenleaf and Tauriel are now packed together (and will save you some money compared to getting them separately):
Wtf with legolas face ?
Next week sees Armies of The Hobbit™ go on pre-order. This massive sourcebook contains over 120 profiles and 20 army lists that let you field your favourite heroes, villains and armies from the time of the Battle of Five Armies. Tomorrow, we’ll be previewing this book in detail right here, so keep an eye out!
Ivory Classy dice !

Games Workshop shares tumble
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk released a post about GW and we learnt a few thing.
1) Sales are ahead of last year
2) Profit are staying the same (so they spend more money ?if sales are ahead)
3) They are afraid of 2018/2019 (Brexit?)
4) Former chairman Tom Kirby's £20.3million disposal of Games Workshop stock last month. Did he know something was up? One would suspect not, given that he retired more than a year ago and shouldn't be privy to information regarding the day-to-day running of the business.'
ps : Before going in conspiracy theory frenzy. 20 millions worth of share is not that much for him. The 18 sept 2018 TK still had 1 552 349 shares (each one worth 3000 (GBX). He sold around 6000 of them ^^
Games Workshop spooked investors today with an unscheduled trading update warning of 'uncertainties in the trading periods ahead'.
The terse, 70-word announcement from the stock market darling, unsettled investors and triggered a 10 per cent slump in its shares to £30.15 - making it the worst performer in the FTSE 250.
The company, which makes and sells miniature fantasy characters and is best-known for table-top game favourite Warhammer, said today that sales were tracking ahead of last year's and its profits were broadly flat.
But it added: 'However, the Board remains aware that there are some uncertainties in the trading periods ahead for the rest of the 2018/19 financial year. A further update will be given as appropriate.'
Retail analyst Nick Bubb pointed out that, having updated the markets just last month, it is unclear why the firm has issued another trading update today, 'bar the fact that its share have been under a bit of pressure'.
'Make of that what you will,' Bubb said.
When This is Money contacted the firm for more clarity on the mysterious statement, a spokesperson declined to comment and said 'no one is available to speak with regards to your query.'
Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell, said: 'Sadly the retailer's latest trading update is a reminder that no company is invincible.
'The market rarely likes brevity and it hates uncertainty, hence why the retailer's shares have taken a hit on the news. It is better to spell out the issues rather than keep investors guessing.'
He added: 'Some questions may also be asked as to the timing of former chairman Tom Kirby's £20.3million disposal of Games Workshop stock last month. Did he know something was up? One would suspect not, given that he retired more than a year ago and shouldn't be privy to information regarding the day-to-day running of the business.'
The Nottingham-based company, which has around 400 UK stores as well as operations in the United States, Australia, China and Japan, has seen its shares rocket by more than 500 per cent over the last two years.
This is despite its exposure to the embattled UK High Street, a squeeze in consumer spending and the perennial threat of computer games.
The firm, which is re-branding some of its Games Workshop stores to 'Warhammer', said last month that trading was in line with management expectations, despite tough comparables.
And at its most recent results, half-year profits surged to £38.8million on sales of of £108.9million - up 54 per cent.
Games Workshop generates three quarters of its sales overseas, so has benefited from a weaker pound since the Brexit vote, as well as its fast growing online business.
It has pumped out figurines to a fanatical audience since its formation in the 1970s, providing the parts for customers to assemble and paint their own 'armies'.
